The brief
The owner was renovating and wanted the existing light beige homogeneous tiles to look like a continuous polished marble floor before carpentry and painting were finished. The grout lines had collected renovation dust and the tile surface was dull and hazy.
Stage 1 — marble gum applied
After masking and preparing the joints, colour-matched marble gum was spread across the floor and worked into every grout line. In the corridor you can see the floor grinding machine ready for the next step.

Stage 2 — ground flush
Once the marble gum had cured, wet diamond grinding removed the excess and levelled grout and tile into one flat surface. At this stage the floor is smooth but matte.

Stage 3 — polished to a mirror finish
Progressively finer diamond pads brought the floor up to a deep gloss. The window grilles and lights reflect clearly in the tiles, and the grout lines have blended into the surface.

The result
A bright, reflective floor that reads as one continuous surface from the entrance through to the bedroom — done without hacking a single tile. Want the same for your home? Learn about marble gum grouting or check our prices.
